Enhanced Access Service

Enhanced Access in a Primary Care Network (PCN)

Enhanced Access is an initiative designed to improve patient access to healthcare services outside of regular working hours. As part of our Primary Care Network (PCN), we are committed to providing more flexible and accessible care to meet the needs of our local community.

Through Enhanced Access, patients can access a wider range of healthcare services at times that are more convenient for them, including evenings and weekends. This can include:

  • Appointments with GPs, Nurses, and Allied Health Professionals during extended hours.
  • Access to medication reviews, and chronic disease management when traditional office hours may not be suitable.
  • Improved availability of routine services, such as health checks, smear appointments, phlebotomy appointments, and minor illness consultations.

By offering these expanded hours, we aim to reduce pressure on urgent care services, allow more timely interventions, and ensure that patients receive the right care at the right time, at times that suit their individual needs.

If you need more information on the Enhanced Access services available to you or wish to book an appointment, please get in touch with your local PCN practice.
